Roys Named Norfolk & Norwich Hospitals Charity Corporate Champion 2023
Roys are delighted to announce we have been named the Norfolk & Norwich Hospitals Charity Corporate Champion for 2023. Department Store manager Andrew Banthorpe visited the NNUH to receive the award from their Charity Director John-Paul Garside.
The annual award programme seeks to thank members of the community for going over and above in support for the hospitals. Each year the charity presents an award to a champion in six different categories in recognition for their work in raising money & awareness for the charity. Roys was chosen by the judging panel for their corporate champion award in recognition of our almost £10,000 raised for the NICU department by our Wroxham Department Store, Garden Centre & Toy Shop. The money was raised predominately by the plastic bag charge, a charity raffle and donations pots in store.
The NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) at the Norfolk & Norwich hospital is a specialist regional unit that receives babies from across the region and further afield, caring for more than 850 babies a year. It provides specialist level three neonatal, medical and surgical intensive care. The money will enable them to provide a specialist incubator with remote monitoring equipment so that a newborn's vitals can be monitored while being cuddled by a parent as well as in the incubator.
We're truly grateful for the support from Roys staff & customers. We rely on the donations from the local community to be able to provide additional equipment & facilities that go above and beyond.John-Paul GarsideN&N Hospitals Charity Director
