Homegrown Plants From Our Nursery

We grow bedding plants and perennials in glasshouses at our garden centre Highway Garden & Leisure. Each year the team grows over half a million plants! For every single one the team at Highway nuture them, potting them on from their trays into pots, and looking after them until they're big enough to go on sale. The work never stops, with plants grown all year round, even in winter. Some of the plants sold in early spring actually start off as early as autumn the year before!

Meet The Team

Kim and the other members of the Nursery team are responsible for all of the plants we grow at Highway. Kim's father is Joe High, the founder of Highway, and she has fond memories of helping in the nursery as a child during the school holidays. The best part of her job is seeing all the bedding & basket plants coming into flower during the spring and her favourite plants are Zonal Geraniums because they always look beautiful and are easy to grow.
